ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The cause of a fire that resulted in two adults being sent to the Hennepin County Medical Center for smoke inhalation is under investigation.

Roseville emergency responders initially received the call at 7:26 a.m. on Sunday and were on the scene on the 2700 block of Asbury Street four minutes later, according to a release.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a victim hanging on a window ledge on the second story asking for help. The firefighters used a ladder to bring them safely to the ground, according to the release.

A second person was able to exit through the main door.

“I’m grateful that both of the victims were able to get to safety and receive medical attention quickly,” said Roseville Assistant Fire Chief Neil Sjostrom, in a statement. “Our firefighters and supporting agencies responded swiftly and performed excellently - while facing extremely cold temperatures and adjusting to a very dynamic situation.”
