One killed, another injured in motorcycle crash

Police said two bikes collided on Tuesday afternoon, causing one rider to crash into a traffic signal pole.

ST. CLOUD, Minn — One man was killed and another sent to the hospital after a motorcycle crash in St. Cloud, officials said. 

Just after 1:15 on Tuesday afternoon, officers reported to a crash with injuries at the intersection of 29th Avenue and South 2nd Street. 

Police said two bikes were headed east on South 2nd when the motorcycles made contact with each other, causing one of the drivers to lose control and crash into the traffic signal pole on the southeast side of the intersection. 

The man who struck the pole was identified as 19-year-old Kaden Johnson of Waite Park. Officials said he was declared dead at the scene. 

The driver of the other bike, 27-year-old William Woodruff of Clara City suffered minor injuries. He was taken to St. Cloud hospital where he was treated and released. 

Police are still investigating the circumstances of this incident.
