WILLMAR, Minn. — The Willmar Police Department is turning to the public to help solve a deadly crash that occurred in the city on Tuesday.
Officers from the department responded to the intersection of 1st Street South and Willmar Avenue due to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to a release.
Upon arrival, the officers found a 52-year-old man suffering from extensive injuries. The man was transported to an area hospital where he died.
According to the release, officers received information that the man was crossing the intersection when he was struck by a northbound four-door dark-colored sedan.
The vehicle drove away after the crash, according to the department.
Anyone with information or video camera footage from the area is asked to contact the Willmar Police Department. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
