Woman dies in Burnsville crash

The crash happened shortly after noon as road conditions were reportedly covered in snow/ice.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — A woman was killed when her vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree in Burnsville on Sunday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 51-year-old Elizabeth Evans of Lakeville was driving northbound on Interstate 35E approaching County Road 42 when the accident took place. 

The Toyota Rav4 she was driving ran off the road and hit a tree, before coming to a complete stop, according to the state patrol's report. 

The crash happened shortly after noon as road conditions were reportedly covered in snow/ice. 

Evans was wearing her seatbelt and the report notes that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
