ST PAUL, Minn — A woman died after the car she was driving crashed in St. Paul following a chase involving the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to a preliminary report, a state trooper began the pursuit after observing a sedan driving at high speeds eastbound on I-94 near Hamline Ave. shortly before 2 a.m.

The trooper activated their lights and attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it continued to drive away.

MnDOT footage of the incident shows the trooper following the car, with emergency lights activated, as it takes the exit to Marion St. The state patrol's report said the trooper stopped the pursuit at that point. The camera follows the car, with the trooper out of view, as it drives through an intersection and crashes into a concrete wall.

The woman who died has been identified as 26-year-old Ahayna Sanders.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
