Woman killed in wrong-way crash near Columbus

The Anoka County Sheriff's Department said a woman was driving an SUV when she left her lane and collided with a man headed south.

ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. — One person was killed and another injured after two vehicles collided in Anoka County on Saturday afternoon. 

Officials said multiple departments responded to a crash near Lake Drive Northeast and 141st Avenue Northeast in Columbus just after 1:45 on Saturday. 

A woman was driving north on Lake Drive when her SUV entered the southbound lane and crashed into another SUV driven by a man, officials said. 

Crews worked to save the woman's life after the collision, but she was declared dead at the scene. The woman was later identified as 32-year-old Sarah Jean Rajanen of Lino Lakes.

The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No other details have been released about him or his condition. 

The Anoka County Sheriff's Department said the incident is still under investigation.
