CALEDONIA, Minn. - A missing teen from Florida has been located in southeastern Minnesota and two people are in police custody.
The Houston County, Minnesota Sheriff's Office says 17-year-old Kaileigh Hand was reported missing Friday. She had been last seen in Hawthorne, Florida around 2:30 a.m. Deputies say her phone was turned off and she was believed to be in the presence a 25-year-old man and his mother.
Officials believed Hand met the man online through an app called "Line Chat" though it has not been confirmed whether or not the man she was found with is indeed the man she met online, according to KARE 11 news partner KTTC.
The Sheriff's Office says law enforcement located their vehicle in Caledonia Sunday morning.
Both the man and his mother have been taken into custody for possible charges related to a child custody dispute in Florida. The man is also facing a stolen vehicle charge.
KARE 11 does not name suspects until they are formally charged with a crime.
