SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Business is booming for "as-seen-on-tv" company MyPillow. The Chaska-based business is adding hundreds of new jobs and a second factory in Shakopee.

The company was founded by inventor Mike Lindell in 2004, when he decided to find a solution to his own lack of sleep, by seeking out a better pillow.

Lindell says he went from running bars and even being a drug addict to now making more than 30,000 pillows a day and shipping them worldwide.

"It was a long journey to get here, but I didn't give up on it. I just knew I had a product that would change the world so much that it can't fail," said Lindell.

The addition of the second factory in Shakopee adds 500 new jobs. MyPillow will have more than 1,000 employees. The company is also expanding into beds.

"It's a dream that's come full circle. It's amazing but I don't forget where I was, " said Lindell.
