GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - One of the Twin Cities most delicious free events, The Minnesota Food Truck Fair, will return for its second year to Lake and Hennepin on Sunday, June 29.
Event organizer LJ Stead came by KARE Saturday to discuss the upcoming event. We were also joined by owners of several local food trucks: Lisa and Marty of Motley Crew, Jean of Butcher Salt and Cari of Chef Shack.
Last year, The Minnesota Food Truck Fair drew in nearly 20,000 people. This year, they're expanding, in several ways, with the hope of bringing an even larger crowd.
Longer hours: This year, the Fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
More trucks: More than 40 food trucks will feature their special creations with global cuisines ranging from Indian to Japanese to locally grown pork.
Larger space: The streetscape has been enlarged by three times and now trucks will line up along Hennepin Avenue, down 31st Street and up Holmes Avenue.
Also new this year, each food truck will offer a signature dish at $5. These specialty dishes will be used to judge the Best Food Truck at the fair.
