WASHINGTON — Singer Cyndi Lauper has announced her final tour, a 23-show goodbye to fans throughout North America.
Lauper, now 70, began her career over 40 years ago with the release of her 1983 album "She's So Unusual."
The “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” farewell tour is Lauper's first major run of live shows in a decade. The tour is named after one of her early breakout songs, which is still an iconic track of the 80s.
The tour was announced a day before Paramount+ is set to release a documentary focused on Lauper's career. "Let the Canary Sing" is set to premiere on the streaming network on June 4.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. with pre-sale tickets available on Thursday.
