HAYWARD, Wis. — Three fires in two hours Monday morning have law enforcement investigating and asking for the public's help.
The first fire was reported at about 4 a.m. in the town of Radisson, the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office said. This was a new house under construction and no one was there at the time of the fire. Officials said the house is a total loss.
The second fire was reported minutes later in the town of Meteor, also in the southern part of Sawyer County. Officials said no one was home at the time and the house is a total loss.
Officials with the sheriff's office say the third fire was not at a home, but at the Birchwood American Legion Post in the town of Edgewater. That fire was reported at about 6 a.m., and no one was in the building at that time.
The Wisconsin Dept. of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office in the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact (715) 634-4858.
