MINNESOTA, USA — Beer fans, have you ever heard anything better than the World Beer Cup?
Well, it exists, and several Minnesota brews took home awards from this international showing.
Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake scored second with the Dortmunder, in the Dortmunder/Export or German-Style Oktoberfest category.
Excelsior Brewing Co. took home second with the Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale in the fruit beer group.
Coming in first place, Duluth's Bent Paddle Brewing Co. won with the Little Düssel Do-Ya in the German-Style Altbier category.
Minneapolis' very own Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub won first with the Doppelbock in the German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock category. BeerClub Brewing in Mora took third with the Doppel Bock in the same group.
Still in Minneapolis, Pryes Brewing Co. took third in the Mixed-Culture Brett Beer category with the Idyll Forest - Soirée.
