GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.- Laz Alonso stars as detective Billy Soto on NBC's "The Mysteries of Laura" and recently stopped by for an interview.
He partners on screen with actress Debra Messing, who plays a detective Laura Diamond. Laura Diamond is a brilliant, no-nonsense NYPD homicide detective who tries to maintain a sense of balance between work and her crazy home life.
At home she deals with incorrigible twin boys and her soon to be ex who can't seem to find the time to sign the divorce papers.
NBC has just given the series the green light, one of the few new NBC shows this fall to be renewed.
Lazaro "Laz" Alonso is an American film and television actor of Afro-Cuban heritage. He is known for playing Tsu'tey in James Cameron's science fiction film Avatar and Fenix "Rise" Calderon in the film Fast & Furious.
Alonso has had roles in other films such as Jarhead, This Christmas, and Miracle at St. Anna.
"The Mysteries of Laura" can be see on Wednesday nights at 7.
