EDINA, Minn. - There's a new way to train for baseball and softball players in the Twin Cities.
The Batting Cages of Minnesota officially opened Tuesday in Edina.
The 35,000 square foot facility features 11 tunnels that canbe used for batting, pitching and more.In two of those tunnels you'll find the ProBatter Simulator, one for baseball and one for softball.Used by several MLB teams, the simulator shows a pitcher winding up on a screen and the ball then shoots out of the screen. The speed, direction and type of pitch can all be adjusted.
The ProBatter is used by the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Cincinatti Reds, among others. Jennifer James, General Manager at the facilitysays there's only 170 ProBatter's in the world.
James also points out that the "Batting Cages of Minnesota" goes beyond just a training facility. It can be used for birthday parties, business gatherings, even weddings.
