BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - A new hotel to be built at the main terminal of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will be an InterContinental.
Graves Hospitality announced the initial, "to-be signed" agreement with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts on Monday, saying the project is slated for completion in 2018. The hotel will be connected to the main terminal through a skyway.
This marks the first hotel to be built on airport property and the second InterContinental in Minnesota (the first is located in St. Paul).
Graves Hospitality also released details about the new hotel, including several renderings of the space. The hotel will have approximately 300 rooms and several local nods, both in the materials used and the interior's design.
Included in the space will be a main floor restaurant, "state-of-the-art" spa, penthouse-level observation bar and more than 25,000-square-feet of meeting and event space.
Officials with Graves Hospitality say they're hopeful the 2018 completion date will be finalized by the Minneapolis-hosted Super Bowl.
