KUSA – Well, it was good while it lasted …
For a brief time this morning, it seemed possible that former professional wrestler, Minnesota governor, political commentator and conspiracy theorist Jesse Ventura planned on going to Denver International Airport with an excavation crew to unearth "secret buildings."
But alas, the letter sent to DIA CEO Kim Day that detailed these plans was a hoax. Ventura's publicist told the airport he did not write it.
"We are very relieved!" a Facebook post from DIA read.
It's unclear who sent the request, but in it, the writer claims that five large buildings and an airstrip were constructed below ground level and then buried because they were "built in the wrong place" (or to house the elite come the apocalypse).
Citing the Freedom of Information Act, the letter writer goes on to say that an excavation crew would be heading to DIA to unearth those unused buildings and explore them.
DIA posted the photo to its Facebook page earlier in the day, asking Ventura to confirm its authenticity to "ensure proper permitting." Now, that's no longer necessary.
Back in 2009, Ventura featured DIA and the alleged "apocalypse bunkers" underneath in his show "Conspiracy Theory." He also talked about the weird art and the alleged "New World Airport Order. You can check out his interview with 9NEWS about the show here: http://bit.ly/1H857S4
To its credit, DIA has fun with the rampant conspiracy theories, even going as far to create a 'leaked page' for April Fools Day (or was it?!).
