Olympians coming to Twin Cities for 'Stars on Ice'

Olympic medalist Adam Rippon told KARE 11 he loves performing at the Xcel Energy Center.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Adam Rippon was one of the biggest stars of the 2018 Winter Olympics, and soon you can see him skate live right here in Minnesota.

Rippon, along with several other Olympians, is on tour for "Stars on Ice." The event stops in St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center on May 6.

Bryan Piatt talked one-on-one with the Olympic bronze medalist, who shared that he loves skating in St. Paul.

"I know for myself that the Xcel Energy Center is one of my favorite places to perform so I'm really looking forward to coming to the Twin Cities," Rippon said.

Rippon said one of his close friends lives in St. Paul, so he tries to visit once a year.

"It's so beautiful in the summer, and in the winter I'm back in L.A. and I'm praying for you guys," Rippon said with a laugh.

Other skaters on the tour include Nathan Chen, the Shibutani siblings, Ashley Wagner and Mirai Nagasu.
