MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police say the man seen in surveillance pictures from the Lola on the Lake restaurant fire is now considered a suspect in the case.
On May 21, investigators released surveillance pictures from the May 16 fire, asking for the public's help in identifying a man and a woman shown in the images. Police were calling the two people persons of interest at that time.
Minneapolis Police Sgt. Darcy Horn said the female in the pictures voluntarily spoke with police the next day and is no longer considered a person of interest nor a suspect. Horn said the man in the pictures has been identified and is considered a suspect.
The incident is still under investigation.
Demolition began on Tuesday to tear down the Bde Maka Ska pavilion, which houses the restaurant. Lola on the Lake plans to continue operating via food truck until it can be rebuilt.
