ST PAUL, Minn. — While 2019 is not the presidential election year, it's still an election year for many Minnesotans.
Not every resident will vote on Nov. 5 of this year, but many voters will have a municipal or school district election. You can look up your district, city or township on this list from the Minnesota Secretary of State (SOS), or find it on a map. There will also be several special elections.
Voters who do have an election for their area could be voting on city or township officers, school board members, or local ballot questions like school district referendums and levies.
You can view a list of the 35 school districts that have a bonding referendum question on the Nov. 5 ballot here. Another 43 school districts have operating levies up for voter approval.
To find out whether you have an election this year, enter your address in the SOS Polling Place Finder. That will also tell you where you can vote.
To learn more about registering to vote, or find out if you're already registered, visit the SOS page on voter registration.
If you can't vote in person, or would prefer not to, learn about your absentee voting options here.
Finally, if you do have an election this year, you can see a sample ballot listing who and what you're going to be voting on right here!
