MINNETONKA, Minn. — DFLer Kelly Morrison has won the race for Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District seat, according to the Associated Press.
The seat was up for grabs after Rep. Dean Phillips decided not to run for reelection as he pursued the presidency earlier this year.
Morrison is an OB-GYN doctor and former Minnesota State Senator.
She was running against Republican Tad Jude, a Minnesota District Court judge who previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
The 3rd Congressional District represents the western portion of Hennepin County, as well as part of Anoka County.
