ST PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is one of the people the Kamala Harris campaign vetting team has met with as they search for the next potential U.S. Vice President.
NBC News reports Thursday the vetting team met with six potential running mates as the selection process nears its end. Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, is expected to announce her running mate next week.
Other people NBC News reports are being vetted include Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Next week, Harris is traveling to numerous locations to campaign, including Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Aug. 7. The tour begins in Pennsylvania.
Gov. Walz was asked Thursday what sets him apart from the other contenders, to which he cited work done as chair of the Democratic Governor’s Association. He also told reporters "I just am who I am."
