EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance is planning to visit western Wisconsin this Wednesday, the same day as Kamala Harris.
Vance, a Republican Senator from Ohio, is planning to deliver remarks to the press at 1 p.m. at Wollard International. An email from the Trump-Vance campaign highlighted concerns about the economy, inflation, and safety in Wisconsin.
Also on Wednesday, Kamala Harris will be in Eau Claire, making her second stop on tour with her pick for vice president. That person has not been named, but Reuters reported Monday it is currently between Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
The first stop on Harris' tour with her VP candidate is slated for Tuesday in Philadelphia. Vance is also making a campaign stop in South Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The Harris campaign has not said exactly when or where she is speaking in Eau Claire on Aug. 7.
Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin Ben Wikler posted on social media saying Bon Iver will be performing at the rally in their hometown. Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon is the founder of the group For Wisconsin, a nonpartisan organization that visited college campuses to build enthusiasm for voting.
This will be the first trip by a Presidential candidate to Eau Claire since 2016. In 2020, Mike Pence visited the western Wisconsin city.
