WASHINGTON — Minnesotans have reelected Amy Klobuchar to another six-year term in the U.S. Senate.
Klobuchar, a member of the DFL, was first elected to the Senate in 2006. At the time she was the first female U.S. Senator from Minnesota.
"To the state of Minnesota, I once again pledge to you I will stand my ground while always seeking common ground," she said to supporters Tuesday night.
The Associated Press says she drew 60% of the vote in 2018, 56% in 2012, and 58% in 2006.
She ran an unsuccessful bid for U.S. President in 2019.
She was running against Royce White, a conservative charismatic populist who made a name for himself in basketball, playing for Iowa State and being drafted by the Houston Rockets in the NBA.
