LA CROSSE, Wisconsin — The day before the 2024 presidential election, both vice presidential candidates are making campaign stops in the same Wisconsin city.

Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Walz will be visiting La Crosse on Monday, Nov. 4.

Wisconsin, with its 10 electoral college votes, has been tight in previous elections. Former President Donald Trump won the state in 2016 by fewer than 23,000 votes, and in 2020 lost to President Joe Biden by just under 21,000 votes.

At an event in Juneau in October, Trump said "If we win Wisconsin, we win the presidency," the Associated Press reports.

Candidates have made several visits to La Crosse this election season. Trump held a town hall event there at the end of August, and Vice President Kamala Harris was in the Coulee Region city two weeks ago.

The Trump campaign said Vance will be at the La Crosse Center at 9:30 a.m. You can register to attend by clicking here. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

The Harris campaign said Walz will be at a Get Out the Vote event at 11:30 a.m. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has not made public the location yet, but it said the event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here to sign up to attend.

Walz and Vance also made a same-day visit to western Wisconsin in August. After Walz was announced as the VP candidate to Harris, both he and Vance made campaign stops in Eau Claire.

On Friday, both Harris and Trump were in battleground Wisconsin, making a final push to voters in the Milwaukee area.
