SUPERIOR, Wis. — President Joe Biden will visit Wisconsin for the second time in about a month, per the White House's announcement that he'll stop in Superior, Wisconsin this Thursday.
While it did not provide details about where or when, the announcement said the president will "discuss how his Bidenomics and Investing in America Agenda are rebuilding America's infrastructure, lowering costs, spurring a small business boom and creating good-paying jobs."
The timely news came as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced on X that the state just secured $1 billion in federal funding to replace the Blatnik Bridge, an aging structure that connects the cities of Duluth and Superior.
In a follow-up post, Walz said the investment will "foster regional economic growth, strengthen our national supply chains, and improve the safety and reliability of our transportation network." He went on to thank Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, congressional leaders and the president for their "partnership."
A more detailed schedule is expected from the White House in the next few days.
Biden could be a frequent guest of the Dairy State in the runup to the 2024 Presidential Election. Spectrum News Service reports it's likely Wisconsin could play a pivotal role in the battle for the White House, with its shifting demographics and voting history, as four of the last six presidential races were decided by less than 1%.
The administration knows the importance of the Badger State: President Biden visited Wisconsin three times in 2023, most recently on Dec. 30, when he set down in Milwaukee to discuss supporting small business and to court Black voters.
"We always believe diversity is our strength as a nation. I don't believe as ... the former president (Trump) said again yesterday, that 'immigrants are polluting our blood,'" Biden told a crowd at the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce. "The economy in our nation is stronger when we're tapping into the full range of talents in this nation."
