GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Earth week (April 22-28) reminds us to think about small changes we can make that have a positive impact on our environment.
Louise Kurzeka of Everything’s Together and the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing professionals (NAPO-Minnesota) urges everyone to repurpose stuff we already have verses buying new as one way to begin making those changes.
Try these tips and see how much cash and trash you can save.
- Create an ideal pancake batter dispenser from an empty ketchup bottle.
- Wine corks can be slit on the side and transformed into a placecard holder for a dinner party
- Mint tins are the perfect size container for creating travel sewing kits & first aid kits
- Identify audio/video/computer cords by attaching labeled bread clips to the plug area of the cords.
- Use old prescription bottle, nail polish remover and cotton to make your own remover tool.
- Start seeds for the garden in used K-cups
- Repurpose a CD case by flipping it around and using as an easel photo holder with modern style
Even better news? Not only are you helping to take pressure off the environment, you'll save significant money in the process.
