MINNEAPOLIS - A Minnesota woman who is suspected of killing her husband and murdering a Fort Myers woman is on her way to Florida to face murder charges.
Texas authorities told KARE 11 that a private prisoner transport company picked up 56-year-old Lois Riess early Thursday morning.
Riess is suspected in the shooting death of David Riess, whose body was found at their home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, in late March.
Investigators believe Riess then fled to Florida where she allegedly killed Pamela Hutchinson in Fort Myers, intending to steal her identity.
A nationwide manhunt for Riess ended last week when a tipster recognized her at a restaurant in South Padre Island, Texas. She was arrested without incident.
Minnesota authorities say they intend to bring Riess back to Minnesota to stand trial when Florida is done.
