Burnsville flower shop helping honor fallen first responders

"We can be their avenue for their thoughts."

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Wrapping up how Burnsville feels is hard. That's where Stems & Vines comes in.

The Burnsville florist has been keeping busy as residents stop in to grab flowers, hoping to let first responders know they're supported.

A memorial has been growing in front of Burnsville City Hall over the past few days to do just that.

"Without any words, we can leave flowers at the memorial sites or at the station on the trucks or the vehicles there," said regional manager Kori Brier.

Brier and her team have received a flood of orders all over the country.

"We can be their avenue for their thoughts," she said. "We were met with (Burnsville firefighter/paramedic Adam Finseth's) widow earlier this week and discussed what her needs were. We have the honor to design for that service."

Brier says Finseth's family is being taken care of.

"The chief was there, captain was there," she said. "A couple of his department members were there. And they all had his jackets on."

Brier says its not just her shop stepping up but, but all of the florists in the communities surrounding Burnsville are coordinating with one another to make sure all of the first responders services' are covered.

She hopes that when words are hard, she can help send the message.
