Structurally deficient bridges in MN, U.S.

Using government data, the American Road and Transportation Builders Association compiled its report and found 709 bridges in the state that are classified as structurally deficient. That's more than 5 percent of the Minnesota's bridges.

MINNEAPOLIS - A new report finds more than 50,000 bridges in the U. S. are falling apart and hundreds of bridges are here in Minnesota.

Using government data, the American Road and Transportation Builders Association compiled its report and found 709 bridges in the state that are classified as structurally deficient. That's more than 5 percent of the Minnesota's bridges.

Of those structurally deficient bridges, some of the most traveled ones are Interstate 35-W southbound over Highway 65 just south of downtown Minneapolis and Interstate 35-E over Shepard Road in St. Paul.
