Suspicious device triggers evacuation of Rochester Police station

Rochester's north side police station was evacuated Tuesday after someone walked in with a suspicious device.

ROCHESTER, Minn. — A police station in Rochester has been evacuated after a suspicious device was brought inside Tuesday morning. 

Rochester Police posted on social media that the device was inside the north side station, triggering the evacuation of all personnel and the closure of several local roads.

  • 41 Street NW at the entrance to Essex Park Apartments to West River Parkway NW.
  • West River Parkway between Essex Parkway NW and 38th Street NW.

The bomb squad was called in, as was an officer with a explosive detection K-9.  The post told all members of the public to stay away from the site until an all clear is given.
