CHANHASSEN, Minn. - Minnesota's team unveiled new uniforms inspired by Minnesota's icon on Thursday.
The Timberwolves partnered with Nike and the Prince Estate to create Prince-Inspired City Edition uniforms, with a nod to Prince's signature purple.
The uniforms were unveiled on Thursday at Paisley Park. The Wolves will wear them in their Nov. 16 home game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Fans can also buy the special edition uniforms online starting Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. They'll also be on sale in the Target Center skyway starting Nov. 9 at 6 a.m., and inside Target Center.
The Prince Estate representatives said in a statement on Thursday,
“From a young age, Prince enjoyed basketball – as a player and a fan. From his days playing at Bryant Junior High and Central High in South Minneapolis, through countless pick-up games while on the road with bandmates around the world, he enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of the game."
