MINNEAPOLIS -- Urban Ventures is celebrating 20 years of Breaking the Cycle of Generational Poverty at a special event October 10th at their Colin Powell Youth Leadership Center.
Urban Ventures have been providing community programs beneficial to the whole family for 20 years. They offer programs ranging from helping parents be everything they can be for their children, providing youth with tutoring and mentoring, and job support to overcome barriers to employment.
The center also held an all new youth program this past summer where children from both Urban Ventures and the MacPhail Center joined together for a Recording Studio Summer Camp. Singer-songwriter John Mark Nelson helped the students during the summer program record their own song titled "Home." Watch their music video online.
The Above & Beyond 20th Anniversary Celebration takes place Thursday October 10th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
