MINNEAPOLIS - Zach Sobiech's story is headed to the silver screen.
Warner Bros. confirms they acquired the movie rights to Laura Sobiech's book, "Fly a Little Higher," the story that centers around her son's life and death.
"We are excited by the possibility to continue Zach's legacy of raising awareness for childhood cancer," Laura Sobiech said.
Zach Sobiech died in May 2013 from a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. Before his death, Zach wrote the song "Clouds" to his family and friends. The song went viral, getting national attention and millions of views online.
The funds generated by the sale of his song went to fund osteosarcoma research.
"Jane the Virgin" star Justin Baldoni will direct and produce the film, which will be titled, "Clouds."
