Woman found dead on Mississippi ice ID'd

Authorities have identified the woman whose body was found on the frozen Mississippi River in St. Cloud Sunday.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Authorities have identified the woman whose body was found on the frozen Mississippi River in St. Cloud Sunday.

Investigators say 21-year-old Hannah Pauline Udvig either fell or jumped from the Granite City Crossing Bridge. A preliminary autopsy shows she died from injuries consistent with a significant fall to the ice.

At this point investigators are anxious to speak with anyone who may have been on or near the Granite City Bridge at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday. Potential witnesses, or those who know anything about what may have happened are asked to call the Stearns County Sheriff's Office at 320-251-4240. \

While rescue crews were recovering Udvig's body they stumbled on to the remains of another person. At this point authorities have not identified that person, but they did say early indications are that the two deaths were not related.
