MINNEAPOLIS — A new YMCA event is aiming to provide a unique opportunity to see life from another person's point of view.
The new Equity Innovation Experience is an interactive exhibit for companies and organizations that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
The exhibit is on Tuesday on the Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis.
The Equity Innovation Experience is trying to capture the stories of immigrants. There are ten stations that touch on things like bias and even a podcast station where people can engage in conversation about diverse topics.
"Everyone steps into the space with their own journey – they've had their own lived experiences, their own conversations, their own influences," Hedy Lemar Wall, YMCA chief social responsibility officer, said. " And this gives people an opportunity to grow on their equity journey and to be willing to step into space and have conversations that are really critically needed right now."
Community and business leaders are invited to an open house being held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
