MINNEAPOLIS — Timberwolves Head coach Ryan Saunders is no stranger to The courts at Mayo Clinic Square. The only thing different this season is his role in the organization. The newly appointed Saunders takes over the Wolves at just 33 years old. However, he's quite comfortable here with his guys. Players that he's gotten to know over the years as an assistant head coach and others that he spent this off season getting to know better as he visited them at their homes.
I had a chance to talk with Saunders at the teams informal workouts -- which every player is attending this season according to the Wolves. Something new and a signal of just how much the players are buying in to the current front office and the systems they're putting in place.
