MINNEAPOLIS — Antoine Winfield Jr. isn't going to rush into a decision about entering the NFL Draft.
The All-American safety for the Gophers also plans to play in the Outback Bowl. Winfield Jr. - who is a redshirt sophomore - is a projected middle round draft pick.
He leads Minnesota with 83 tackles and has racked up seven interceptions on the year.
"We have to be able to position him the best way we possible can," Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck said on Friday. "If that means he has to come out now then we support him 100%."
The Gophers will depart for the Outback Bowl in Tampa on December 26. The game will be played on New Years Day.
