GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The high school football season all comes down to this.
With the regular season wrapped up, the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) on Friday announced the seeding and brackets for the playoffs.
KARE 11's Randy Shaver was the first to reveal the Class 6A football brackets once again this year with his exclusive Prep Sports Extra Selection Show.
UPPER LEFT 6A BRACKET
Centennial gets the number one seed following a 7-1 season behind head coach Mike Diggins. They'll face #8 Burnsville to open the playoffs.
The rest of the bracket includes #5 Prior Lake vs. #4 Mounds View; #6 Blaine facing #3 Rosemount; and #7 Buffalo against #2 Woodbury.
The first round of games in this bracket will be hosted by the higher seed on Friday, Oct. 27.
LOWER LEFT 6A BRACKET
The Lakeville South Cougars grab the top seed in the lower left portion of the 6A bracket; They'll face #8 Roseville to open the postseason.
The rest of the bracket includes #5 Champlin Park against #4 Shakopee; #6 East Ridge faces #3 Anoka; and #7 Eastview taking on #2 Minnetonka.
UPPER RIGHT 6A BRACKET
The upper right portion of the 6A bracket is led by number one Eden Prairie, who will face 8th-seeded Osseo in the first round.
The rest of the bracket features #5 White Bear Lake against #4 Eagan; #6 Wayzata against #3 Forest Lake; and #7 Coon Rapids taking on #2 Lakeville North.
LOWER RIGHT 6A BRACKET
The lower right bracket features Stillwater as the number one seed; they'll face #8 Hopkins to start the playoffs.
The remainder of the bracket includes #5 Rochester Mayo, the only non-metro school in 6A, facing #4 St. Michael-Albertville; #6 Farmington against #3 Edina; and #7 Park Cottage Grove against #2 Maple Grove.
