MINNEAPOLIS — Wayzata High School's Jackson McAndrew will carry on a tradition going back more than 30 years after being named the Minnesota Associated Press Player of the Year for high school boys basketball.
The 6-foot-9 senior forward helped lead the Trojans reach the Class 4A state championship game earlier this month, but ultimately fell to the Minnetonka Skippers, relinquishing their 2023 state champion title.
McAndrew averaged more than 23 points and 10 rebounds per game this season and will join the team at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska next year.

Past Minnesota AP Players of the Year include notables like Kris Humphries, Isaiah Dahlman, Tyus Jones, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Suggs.
