PWHL launches new apparel line

The new hockey league is teaming up with Line Change, a women-owned company to bring "fashion-forward looks" for fans.

TORONTO, ON — The new Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) is preparing to launch in early 2024 while aiming to redefine the way people see women in the world of sports.

With play beginning in just weeks, the league on Friday launched a new apparel line so fans of the PWHL and its original six teams - including the one that will play in St. Paul at Xcel Energy Center - can show their support. The offerings include hoodies, hats, long sleeves, crops and other offerings from Line Change, a female-owned apparel company that wants to bring "fashion forward looks" to the PHL. There is a PWHL league line, as well as team gear specific to all the franchises.

The store officially goes online Friday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m.

Line Change founders and NHL hockey wives Angela Price and Julie Petry started the company to provide better options for female sports fans. They say partnering with the PWHL is a natural fit.

“It’s synergistic to be able to work with a league who is taking a lead at helping females in hockey see just how much is possible, and we feel like that messaging is perfectly aligned with what we’re trying to achieve over here at Line Change as well, but within the vein of sports fan apparel,” said Petry in a released statement.

“Both of our organizations were born out of a need for more options for females; options that previously did not exist but were always possible,” added Price.

Some PWHL apparel items will be sold at venues during league games.

The Minnesota team opens its season on the road but returns to St. Paul to open their home schedule on Jan. 6 against Montreal at 2:30 p.m.
