PWHL Minnesota players talk what's next

Brooke Bryant and Claire Butorac talk about their inaugural season with the team and their impact on fans.

ST PAUL, Minn. — If you haven't made it to a Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) game this season, you are missing out.

As Minnesota's own team takes the ice, fans have flocked to the Xcel Energy Center in record numbers. And for young girls, the players are more than just fun to watch — they're inspiring, too

The hockey club moved into first place in the PWHL on Wednesday night with a win over Ottawa. Minnesota's next home game is against Toronto on Feb. 27 at the 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Minnesota players Brooke Bryant and Claire Butorac came to the KARE 11 studios to chat about their first season in the PWHL.

Butorac grew up in Andover, Minn., before playing hockey for Minnesota State Mankato. She has stayed close with her community and now coaches the Andover girl's hockey team.

Bryant grew up in sunny California but quickly found a second home in Minnesota as she played for Minnesota State Mankato.
