MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Gophers had one of the most effective rushing attacks in the country, so it was only fitting that they get rewarded for it.

Running back Mohamed Ibrahim, tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford and the entire offensive line were all named to the All-Big Ten team.

Ibrahim and center John Michael Schmitz were both named First Team, making Ibrahim one of only three running backs in school history to be selected to the First Team multiple times. Ibrahim was also a First Team selection in 2020.

"B1G showing love to all 5 of my OL and TE," Ibrahim tweeted. "So proud of you guys and all the hard work y'all put in this season."

As a team, the Gophers rushed for 218.2 yards per game this season, including four games where they eclipsed the 300-yard rushing mark on the ground. Minnesota's yards per game average ranked 11th in the country.

The Gophers were held under 100 rushing yards only twice, and one of them was a game Ibrahim sat out with an ankle injury.

Still, Ibrahim was able to rush for 1,594 yards and 19 touchdowns. His rushing touchdowns and yards per game (144.9) were second in the nation.

The All-Big Ten Team is selected by coaches and media, so some players can be selected to different teams by either the coaches or media.

Ibrahim and Schmitz were both selected First Team by both the coaches and media, while guard Chuck Filiaga was named Third Team by the coaches and Honorable Mention by media. Guard Axel Ruschmeyer was named Third Team by both the coaches and media.

Spann-Ford and tackle Aireontae Ersery were Honorable Mention selections by both the coaches and media, while tackle Quinn Carroll was named Honorable Mention by the media.

The Gophers finished the regular season 8-4 and are awaiting what bowl game they'll participate in.
