Saint John’s begins MIAC play with a road win at Bethel

Saint John's defense was able to bottle up the Royals' offense, forcing five turnovers, including four interceptions from Bethel QB Cooper Drews.

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Saint John's (3-0) forced five turnovers on Saturday to win their MIAC opener against #24 Bethel (2-1) 45-20.

Johnnie's quarterback Aaron Syverson threw for 362 yards and 3 touchdowns to help lead the Saint John's offense. Dylan Wheeler finished with 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Saint John's defense was able to bottle up the Royals' offense, forcing five turnovers, including four interceptions from Bethel QB Cooper Drews.

Bethel faces Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, October 5th. Saint John's hosts Augsburg on the 5th for homecoming in Collegeville.
