MINNEAPOLIS — Fans of the Minnesota Twins are getting a better understanding of how they'll watch their favorite baseball team in 2025 from the friendly confines of their own home.
On Tuesday, Major League Baseball announced it will produce and distribute local games for the Twins, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cleveland Guardians. This arrangement is similar to what MLB did with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, and San Diego Padres during the 2024 season.
MLB made direct-to-consumer streaming options available with no blackouts for local games and negotiated television distribution agreements with cable and satellite.
Twins officials said they expect MLB to do the same in their agreement and reach deals with television stations in the future — but that information isn't clear right now.
"The specific channel the Twins baseball will be on the linear side is TBD," Twins Team President Dave St. Peter said in a Zoom news conference on Tuesday.
MLB officials said more information on where fans can watch games will be announced closer to the beginning of the 2025 season.
The Twins' and Guardians' contracts with Diamond Sports Group (Bally Sports) expired at the end of the 2024 regular season, leaving their future viewing muddled. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Brewers were one of eight clubs Diamond Sports Group cut ties for the 2025 season.
