MINNEAPOLIS — Two of the longest-tenured members of the current Minnesota Twins roster are getting picked up for another year.

The team announced it has exercised the 2024 club options on the contracts for both outfielder Max Kepler and infielder Jorge Polanco for the upcoming season.

Both Kepler, 30, and Polanco, 30, have played their entire major league careers with the Twins.

After struggling at the plate at the start of the 2023 season, Kepler emerged as one of the team's most reliable players on offense in the second half of the year, batting .306 after the All-Star break with 17 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs and 36 RBI. Kepler finished the regular season with a career-best .260 batting average, and led the Twins in home runs (24), RBI (66) and runs scored (72).

Polanco missed large chunks of the 2023 season due to injury, but still managed to knock out 14 home runs and 48 RBIs in 80 games. Polanco is also the franchise leader in home runs by a switch-hitter (112).
