MINNEAPOLIS — Anthony Edwards will face off against his Olympic teammate Lebron James when the Timberwolves open their season against the Lakers in LA on Oct. 22.

The Western Conference finalist Wolves will look to build on the franchise's most successful season and the team is seemingly being rewarded for their stellar play last season with a slate of 25 nationally televised games.

The Wolves will host their home opener at Target Center against the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 26.

In a schedule packed with highlight matchups and primetime games, one meeting stands apart from the rest.

The Timberwolves will play the team that ended their 2023-24 season, the Dallas Mavericks, in a Christmas Day matchup.  The occasion will mark the franchise's third-ever Christmas day game.

The Mavericks would go on to lose the NBA Championship to the Boston Celtics in five games.

Those reigning champion Celtics will be headed to Target Center for a primetime matchup against the Wolves on Jan. 2.

ANT, KAT, Rudy and the rest of the Wolves are also scheduled for 14 back-to-backs in the upcoming season, which is one more set than the past year.

The team dropped a meme-laden video to celebrate the schedule release:

The Timberwolves are also schedule to partake in Emirates NBA Cup (formerly the in-season tournament) in West Group A, which also features the Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, LA Clippers and Houston Rockets. The Wolves first game in that tournament will be against the Blazers on Nov 12.
