Where to watch the Timberwolves if you're not buying a ticket

Get ready to howl as the Wolves take on the Mavericks in Minneapolis to open up the Western Conference Finals.

MINNEAPOLIS — For the first time in 20 years, the Timberwolves are heading to the Western Conference finals.

Plenty of fans will pack in the Target Center to see them play — but if you're looking to save a little money, then there are other options to watch the game while soaking up a fun atmosphere.

The Wolves will kick off the conference finals against the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Game 2 will be at Target Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Here are some watch parties in the Twin Cities where you can grab a drink and tune in.

Minneapolis

If you want to make sure you can see the TV at all times, head to Tom's Watch Bar at 606 Hennepin Ave. There are TVs placed all around the establishment to make sure you won't miss a second of the game.

Gluek's Restaurant and Bar is a historic bar with a spread of delicious food - including gluten free options. Catch the watch party at 16 N 6th St.

Kieran's Irish Pub hosts watch parties with a lively atmosphere and food options in downtown Minneapolis. Check it out at 85 N. 6th St.

If you're looking to drink an award-winning brew while you watch the Wolves, consider Falling Knife Brewing Co. For Sunday's Game 7 against Denver, the brewery posted on Instagram that fans watched the game on a big TV truck outside as the sun set.

Other Minneapolis watch parties include gatherings at The Loop, Sneaky Pete's and Jackson's Hole.

St. Louis Park

If you're looking to watch the game but want to avoid Timberwolves traffic in downtown Minneapolis, then drive over to Reveal Rooftop Bar & Lounge. The venue hosted watch parties through the playoffs with a free drink for those wearing Wolves gear.
