MINNEAPOLIS — After finishing fourth with the United States in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will get another go at international triumph — this time on the Olympic stage.
Multiple reports say Edwards will be on Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Joining Edwards on the roster will be Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis, according to reports.
During the World Cup, Edwards averaged 16.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists as the United States finished fourth behind Canada, Serbia and Germany, which won its first-ever title.
Edwards and the Wolves will begin postseason play Saturday as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. They'll host the Phoenix Suns — a team they've yet to beat this season — in a best-of-seven series. Edwards is averaging 25.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists this season.
