MINNEAPOLIS — There's still hope that Minnesota's KAT could be back in time for the NBA playoffs.
The Minnesota Timberwolves posted Tuesday that star forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns had "successful surgery on a left knee lateral meniscus tear." According to the brief update on the Wolves' website, Towns "will be re-evaluated in four weeks."
The Wolves had been playing some of the best basketball in franchise history when word came of Towns' injury last week. The team has lost two of the three games they've played since then, falling from a tie for first down to third in the NBA Western Conference standings.
While there's no guarantee that Towns would be able to return to the court in four weeks, if he is cleared to play, the timetable would fall in the final week of the NBA regular season.
