ST. PAUL, Minn. - Tom Kurvers returned home to Minnesota earlier this week as the new assistant manager for the Minnesota Wild. Kurvers played high school hockey at Bloomington Jefferson and was a standout defenseman at UMD. He won the Hobey Baker Award in 1984. Kurvers spent 11 seasons in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1986. He has spent over 2 decades in front offices with the Lightning and Coyotes, most recently Kurvers was a senior advisor to the general manager in Tampa Bay.
